The vice president of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Dr. Farinto Kayode Collins has urged the Federal Government to prevent the Terminal Operators from increasing their storage charges.
Farinto who spoke at the National Executive council (NEC) meeting of the association recently said the various terminal operators had attempted to increase their storage charges by about fifty percent but were resisted by the association .
He said the major reasons given for their decision to increase the storage charges was as a result of Inflation and Fluctuation of the Nigeria Currency.
"If the Federal Government fails to give palliatives to the Terminal Operators, they maybe force to increase their storage charges which will affect their Clients.
Consequently, the effect on the shippers will lead to higher inflation " He Said
