ANLCA CRISIS: NECOM Suspends Ring Leaders.

The Crisis ravaging the National Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has taken a new tune with the suspension of the perceived  ringleaders of the crisis by the National Executive Council Members (NECOM) of the Association.

Following the recommendation of the disciplinary committee of the Association on the misconduct of some members of the association which has brought the image of the Association to disrepute for almost three years now, the national executive council members  (NECOM)  last week during a press briefing chaired by Dr. Kayode Farinto, the National Vice President announced the immediate suspension of five members of the Association for their roles in fueling the crisis.

Those suspended members are four National Officers;  Mr. Adumaza Joe Sanni of Muiltimodal Logistics Ltd, Prince Taiye Oyeniyi of Mac Mary Nig. Ltd, Chief Dennis Okafor of Denca Services Ltd, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha of Pyramid Associates Ltd, and Mr. Kehinde Akintola of the MM command Chapter.

The suspension was announced by the Chairman of the disciplinary committee DR. Kayode Farinto who represented the president Hon. Tony Iju Nwabunike at the briefing  that after the committee which is backed by Section 7(2c) of the amended constitution of ANLCA 2013, had summoned the above members to appear before the committee o two different occasions which according to the committee blatantly ignored the committee but went ahead releasing and granting press interviews and conducting chapter elections and administering oath of office leaving the committee with no other choice than to recommend suspension as penalties.

While reacting to the suspension, the National Secretary of the Alhaji Mukaila Babatunde said these people on several occasions since the inception of the present administration, these people apart from the physical attack on the National Secretariat by hired hoodlums have instituted ten court injunctions from different law courts against the leadership of the association. He described the latest injunction from a federal high court in Kano seeking for the sealing of the national Secretariat of the association as "social media" court order since the applicant  one Alhaji Mohammed Sani Utai is not a member of the Kano Chapter of the association so has no locus standi to take the ANLCA or her leadership to court.
